Is there anyway to just get rid of a pet . I charmed an animal that i just dont want anymore ... Do i have to find a way to kill it off or is there a way to dismiss it ?

you need to go to a town and find an NPC called a 'tamer', talk to them and they will give the option to take the pet off your hands. They're not at all towns however. But there is one at Ascalon in post-searing and one by Ranger Nente in pre-searing. I have no clue where the others are

If you want a new pet, yes, find one of the tamers. If you just don't want to cart a pet around at all, just take the Charm Animal skill out of your skill bar.

If i sell a pet to the tamer--can I retame that type of pet? I seem to remember the tamer in the last BWE saying something kind of like a warning that I would not be able to.
Also--if I take the charm skill of my bar and my pet disappears--does it mean that the next time I put it back--I will get that pet back? |

it's a little bit strange behaviour of the pet but if you carry the skill, your pet follows you. |

Thanks for the replys. That makes sense about not that specific animal-I was afraid it meant that entire type.
I now want to get my ranger out to charm a strider and once I get it high enough level enter the arena vs another ranger's pet. Hmm- if I could only get more like-minded individuals we could have a little underground chocobo/cockfighting ring going. That is until the Ascalon PETA groups shut us down. Or better yet--get a group of beastmaster rangers to do the same--imagine the shock when your group charges only to see 8 screaming chocobos coming at you. I know--just dreaming. BUt it would be worth it for a screenshot or two |

The only thing I don't like about the birds in this game are the sounds they make... they sound weak.
